With its pastel-toned buildings, and pre-war intricate architecture, Munich was a wonderful city to visit in the fall. I stayed for three nights in Munich and was able to explore the city entirely on foot. Obviously I didn’t get to everything, but I definitely got to a lot! I started by exploring the city center of Alstadt, which is filled with cobblestone streets going in all different directions and super old buildings, churches and monuments.
Marienplatz
Marienplatz is one of the most famous plaza’s in Munich. What’s so memorable about this plaza are the buckets of bright red flowers which rest at the foot of the Cathedral windows. The plaza is named after the Mariensäule, a column at the center of the space. The Old and New Town Halls of Munich are also present at this plaza, making it an extremely crowded and popular place to visit.
