Place Boieldieu is one of the most beautiful plazas I discovered in the 2nd arrondissement near the Vivienne neighborhood in Paris. It dates back to October 14, 1780 and it was formerly called “Place des Italiens.” In 1852, its name was changed to Place Boieldieu, after the principal French opera composer François-Adrien Boieldieu (1775-1834).

This hidden Parisian plaza is behind the Théâtre National de l’Opéra-Comique. A residential building sits across the square. Two lamp posts with circular benches are featured in the square.
