Art Basel & More: Shots From a Visit to Miami Beach!

This past week I flew down to Miami for my very first Art Basel experience! I’ve been to Miami several times, but never during the fair. Once I even came down the weekend before! I am a huge fan of contemporary art, so you can imagine how exciting it was to finally attend the celebrated fair. The space the fair is held in is massive and it can definitely be overwhelming. A minimum of several hours are needed just to get through everything, so in the interest of saving my poor feet, what I did was map out the galleries I especially wanted to visit beforehand. Whatever I saw in between stops would be left up to fate!

Here are a few of my favorite works:

La semaine dernière, je suis allé à Miami pour ma première visite à Art Basel! J’ai été à Miami plusieurs fois, mais jamais pendant la foire. Une fois, j’y étais le weekend avant! Je suis une telle fan d’art contemporain, alors vous pourriez imaginer ma hâte d’arriver en fin à cette foire célèbre. L’endroit est tellement énorme et donc un peu écrasant. Il faut avoir au minimum plusieurs heures pour passer sur tout, alors pour sauver mes pieds pauvres, ce que j’ai fait c’est de tracer une route des galleries que je voulais surtout visiter sur le guide de la foire avant d’y arriver. Ce que j’ai vu entre les arrêts serait laissé au destin!

During my downtime, I was super excited to explore beautiful Miami Beach! I still remember the very first time I visited the city. I was completely in awe of the soft, pastel-toned art deco architecture by day that turned neon bright at night. It was a city that transformed seamlessly. And of course, the beaches were beyond gorgeous.

Bien sûr, pendant le temps libre, je devais explorer la belle Miami Beach! Je me souviens de la première fois que j’ai visité cette ville. J’étais complètement folle des couleurs doux en pastel de l’architecture pendant la journée, qui se tournaient au style néon et art-deco à la nuit. C’était une ville qui se transformait magnifiquement. Et bien sûr, les plages étaient tellement superbe.
